Time and money are the two things we never seem to have enough of in college. We've created five last-minute costume designs for the busy and broke.
Smartie Pants
Think you're too busy to make a costume? NaBrO, this costume takes less than thirty minutes to make.
What you'll need:
- pants
- school supplies items as your accessories
- a bag of Smarties
- tape or hot glue
- glasses (BONUS)
What you'll do:
Tape or glue candy onto the pants. If using hot glue, wait at least one hour for glue to dry before wearing.
Iron Woman/Man
This may be a Stark difference from the usual superhero costume, but it's definitely appropriate for college.
What you'll need:
- a shirt with iron's element symbol (or a white shirt, paint brush, and black fabric paint)
- (small) dumbbells
What you'll do:
If you're making your shirt, first wash it. Then, using fabric paint and brush, paint iron's element symbol, name, and atomic number. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
Scarecrow
Taking only ten minutes to put together, this costume isn't much of a birden.
What you'll need:
- plaid shirt
- Halloween makeup kit
- hair ties (optional)
What you'll do:
Apply orange makeup to the apples of your cheeks and the top of your forehead, blending out. Using brown (or black) face paint, start at the corners of your mouth and paint a line straight out. Add three or four intersecting lines per side.
Werewolf
Furreal, this costume is super easy.
What you'll need:
- black and white facepaint paint
- buffalo check shirt
- jeans
- outdoor or combat-style boots
What you'll do:
First, you will need to use the black paint as a base for your makeup look. When painting the eyebrows, it is important to remember to use thick strokes to create a "furry" eyebrow. Use black paint to paint your nose and beard (optional).
Once the black paint is dry, use the white paint to highlight and add dimension to your design. All and all, this costume should take about thirty minutes to assemble.
Cardinal Fan
This costume can be a peck of a lot of fun to put together and uses all those school spirit items you've collected over the years.
What you'll need:
- red and white wig
- red and white face paint
- 51³Ô¹ÏProshirt
- red overalls or pants
- rally towel
- cowbell
We recommend painting your face first to avoid dripping any onto your clothes. Once your face is dry, pull on your costume, leaving the wig for last. Grab your spirit items and get your hype on!
